Prior law required the Dept. of Public Safety and Corrections to identify a transition
specialist at each of the state correctional facilities who shall perform certain duties which
include furnishing a photo identification card to an offender prior to his release.
New law retains prior law and adds that, to the extent funding is available, the offender shall
also be issued a card that includes a list of all vocational licensing and certification programs
completed by the offender while incarcerated.
Effective August 1, 2020.
