SB 366 Original 2020 Regular Session Fields
Present law, relative to tenured bus drivers as the subject of disciplinary action, provides that within
20 calendar days after written notice of the charges, the bus operator may request a hearing before
a disciplinary hearing officer. Provides that if the bus operator fails to timely request a hearing, the
disciplinary action becomes final.
Proposed law provides that the request for the hearing must be made within 20 calendar days of
receipt of the superintendent's interim decision rather than within 20 calendar days after written
notice of the charges. Otherwise retains present law.
Effective upon signature of the governor or lapse of time for gubernatorial action.
