Clement Jr. DIGEST SB 433 Original 2020 Regular Session Mizell Present law provides that any "mandatory reporter", as defined by present law, who has cause to believe that a child's physical or mental health or welfare is endangered as a result of abuse or neglect, or that abuse or neglect was a contributing factor in a child's death, must report that suspected abuse to the proper authorities in accordance with present law. Proposed law retains present law and adds that, for purposes of the reporting requirements of present law, the pregnancy of a child under the age of 13 years constitutes cause to believe that the child has been abused.
