Present law prohibits any manufacturer or wholesaler in this state to have in his possession any
beverages of high alcoholic content outside of his bonded stockroom unless they are in containers
of no greater capacity than 1.75 liters. The standards of fill shall be the following:
(1)1.75 liters
(2)One liter
(3)750 milliliters
(4)500 milliliters
(5)375 milliliters
(6)200 milliliters
Proposed law retains present law and adds 50 milliliter containers to the list of legal standards of fill.
Present law provides for an exemption to the current 50 milliliter prohibition in hotels or motels
located in Bossier, Caddo, Calcasieu, East Baton Rouge, Jefferson, Lafayette, Orleans, Ouachita, and
Rapides parishes.
Proposed law repeals present law.
Effective August 1, 2020.
