Present law requires the appropriate adult protection agency to notify the chief law enforcement
agency of the parish in which the incident is alleged to have occurred when the agency receives a
report of sexual or physical abuse, whether directly or by referral.
Proposed law retains present law but adds exploitation and extortion to the types of incidents to be
reported.
Effective August 1, 2020.
