Suspends until August 1, 2020, all deadlines in legal proceedings, including liberative prescriptive
and peremptive periods in all courts, administrative agencies, and boards including but not limited
to nonconstitutionally mandated deadlines in criminal proceedings and any deadlines set for in the
following:
(1)Louisiana Civil Code.
(2)Louisiana Code of Civil Procedure.
(3)Title 9 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, (Civil Code Ancillaries).
(4)Title 13 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, (Courts and Judicial Procedure).
(5)Chapter 10 of Title 23 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950 (Workers' Compensation).
(6)Chapter 5-D of Title 40 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950 (Medical Malpractice)
Further specifically suspends the following legal requirements until August 1, 2020:
(1)R.S. 17:154.1 regarding the minimum length of a school day for grades one through twelve
and the minimum length of a school year for the 2019-2020 school year.
(2)R.S. 17:154.3 regarding the number of days a teacher is to work per school year for the 2019-
2020 school year.
(3)R.S. 11:513, 703, 1543 regarding the number and frequency of meetings to be held by state
or statewide retirement systems, as applicable.
(4)All requirements involving the number and frequency of meetings for local governmental
subdivisions and other political subdivisions as defined in Const. Art. VI, ยง44.
Effective until August 1, 2020.
