COMMENDATIONS. Commends K'Lavon Chaisson on an outstanding 2019 season with
the Louisiana State University Fighting Tigers football team.
1 A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION
2 To commend K'Lavon Chaisson on an outstanding 2019 season with the Louisiana State
3 University Fighting Tigers football team.
4 WHEREAS, K'Lavon Chaisson played outside linebacker for the Louisiana State
5 University (LSU) Fighting Tigers football team; and
6 WHEREAS, a native of Houston, Texas, he attended North Shore High School, was
7 one of the top defensive ends in the country, and graduated with a 3.3 grade point average;
8 and
9 WHEREAS, K'Lavon played in twenty-six games with seventeen starts in his three
10 years with the Tigers and capped his career with ninety-two tackles, nineteen tackles for loss,
11 and nine and one-half sacks; and
12 WHEREAS, he was named First Team All-SEC in 2019 and Freshman All-SEC in
13 2017; and
14 WHEREAS, he was a three-time member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll, earned
15 Defensive Most Valuable Player honors in LSU's Chick-fil-A Bowl/CFP National Semifinal
16 win over the University of Oklahoma in December 2019, and wore the No. 18 jersey in
17 2019; and
18 WHEREAS, K'Lavon is another in a long line of Houston area players to make an

1 impact at LSU; and
2 WHEREAS, he opted to forgo his final two seasons of eligibility at LSU and entered
3 the 2020 NFL Draft; and
4 WHEREAS, K'Lavon Chaisson is a talented athlete who demonstrates impeccable
5 leadership and a commitment to excellence on the gridiron and in the classroom that is truly
6 commendable; and
7 WHEREAS, it is fitting to herald the achievements of accomplished young men like
8 K'Lavon Chaisson, a model student and athlete who represents the best and brightest of his
9 generation and who is deserving of the honors bestowed upon him as a member of the
10 Louisiana State University Fighting Tigers football team.
11 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
12 commend and congratulate K'Lavon Chaisson on an outstanding 2019 football season as
13 outside linebacker for the Louisiana State University Fighting Tigers, does hereby record for
14 posterity the pride and honor that he brings to his family, friends, community, the state of
15 Texas, the state of Louisiana, and the United States of America, and does hereby extend to
16 him best wishes for continued success and happiness in all of his future endeavors.
17 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
18 K'Lavon Chaisson.
