COMMENDATIONS. Commends Lloyd Cushenberry III on an outstanding 2019 season
with the Louisiana State University Fighting Tigers football team.
1 A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION
2 To commend Lloyd Cushenberry III on an outstanding 2019 season with the Louisiana State
3 University Fighting Tigers football team.
4 WHEREAS, Lloyd Cushenberry III is a graduate of Dutchtown High School, from
5 Carville, Louisiana, and the son of Lloyd Cushenberry II and Debbie Cushenberry; and
6 WHEREAS, Lloyd played center for the Louisiana State University (LSU) Fighting
7 Tigers in thirty-nine games during his career, starting the final twenty-eight at center, and
8 developed into one of the best centers in LSU history; and
9 WHEREAS, he was the first offensive lineman to be awarded the number eighteen
10 jersey, which is given to the player who best represents what it means to be an LSU football
11 player on and off the field; and
12 WHEREAS, Lloyd is considered by many as the most valuable player on the 2019
13 LSU team for his leadership on the field and in the locker room; and
14 WHEREAS, after many practices, he was seen working with the younger offensive
15 linemen, serving as a mentor to the underclassmen; and
16 WHEREAS, during the 2019 season, Lloyd started every game at center and led the
17 team with one thousand thirty-seven total snaps; and
18 WHEREAS, he was considered the leader of the LSU offensive line that was named

1 the winner of the 2019 Joe Moore Award, an honor presented to the top offensive line in the
2 nation and the only major college football award to honor a group or a unit; and
3 WHEREAS, Lloyd played every offensive snap in the championship game win over
4 Clemson University as LSU racked up six hundred twenty-eight total yards; and
5 WHEREAS, Lloyd Cushenberry III is a talented athlete who demonstrates
6 impeccable leadership and a commitment to excellence that is truly commendable; and
7 WHEREAS, it is fitting to herald the achievements of Louisiana's accomplished
8 young men like Lloyd Cushenberry III, a model citizen who represents the best and brightest
9 of the state and who is deserving of the honors bestowed upon him as a member of the
10 Louisiana State University Fighting Tigers football team.
11 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
12 commend and congratulate Lloyd Cushenberry III on an outstanding 2019 football season
13 as center for the Louisiana State University Fighting Tigers, does hereby record for posterity
14 the pride and honor that he brings to his family, friends, community, the state of Louisiana,
15 and the United States of America, and does hereby extend to him best wishes for continued
16 success and happiness in all of his future endeavors.
17 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to Lloyd
18 Cushenberry III.
