SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 13

A RESOLUTION
To designate March 26, 2020, as "Y Day in Louisiana".
WHEREAS, our commitment is to nurture the potential of kids, promote healthy
living, and foster a sense of social responsibility; and
WHEREAS, our core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility unite us
as a movement and guide our behavior, interactions with each other, and decision-making;
and
WHEREAS, more than 100,000 children and adults throughout the state in Louisiana
Ys have access to the essentials necessary to learn, grow, and thrive; and
WHEREAS, Louisiana's Ys support the development of integrated, community-based
strategies for serving children and families; and
WHEREAS, Louisiana's Ys stand ready to support state government efforts to
provide developmental programs for youth, strengthen families, and mobilize and coordinate
broad efforts to support children and families through partnerships that meet community
needs; and
WHEREAS, on March 26, 2020, representatives of Louisiana's Ys will meet in the
Louisiana State Capitol with their representatives and senators to discuss and exchange ideas
on issues facing youth and families.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
designate March 26, 2020, as "Y Day in Louisiana".
