SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 28

COMMENDATIONS. Commends Joseph Michael Srofe Jr on earning the rank of Eagle
Scout.
1 A RESOLUTION
2 To commend Joseph Michael Srofe Jr. of the Boy Scouts of America Troop 562 on
3 achieving the rank of Eagle Scout.
4 WHEREAS, it is appropriate to commend and celebrate the accomplishments of
5 Joseph Michael Srofe Jr. of Boy Scouts of America Troop 562 on the memorable and
6 historic occasion of his attainment of the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout; and
7 WHEREAS, the Boy Scouts of America was organized in 1910 to provide boys an
8 educational program to build character, to train in the responsibilities of citizenship, and to
9 develop personal fitness; and
10 WHEREAS, the Boy Scouts of America awards its highest rank of Eagle Scout to
11 scouts who have fulfilled the requirements in the areas of leadership, service, and outdoor
12 skills; earned at least twenty-one merit badges, signifying the mastery of scout skills,
13 including Citizenship in the Community, Citizenship in the Nation, and Citizenship in the
14 World; and completed an Eagle Scout project, rendering community service; and
15 WHEREAS, in order to obtain the rank of Eagle Scout, Joseph was required to
16 provide leadership through the development and execution of his Eagle Scout Project as he
17 constructed a storage barn for St. Luke the Evangelist Church in Slidell, Louisiana; and
18 WHEREAS, in honor of Joseph's achievement, an Eagle Scout Court of Honor will

1 be held on May 30, 2020; and
2 WHEREAS, Joseph Michael Srofe Jr. represents scouting's finest tradition of duty
3 to God and country, duty to others, and duty to self.
4 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
5 does hereby commend and honor Joseph Michael Srofe Jr. on the historic occasion of his
6 attainment of the rank of Eagle Scout; does hereby express utmost gratitude and respect for
7 the exemplary strides he has made as a Scout and a citizen; does hereby congratulate Joseph
8 Michael Srofe Jr. and the members and leaders of Troop 562 as they commemorate the
9 significant event of Mr. Srofe's pledge of eternal loyalty to the code of the Eagle Scout; and
10 does hereby extend best wishes to Joseph Michael Srofe Jr. for full measures of happiness
11 and success in all of his future endeavors.
12 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
13 Joseph Michael Srofe Jr.
