2020 Regular Session ENROLLED SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 28 BY SENATOR HEWITT A RESOLUTION To commend Joseph Michael Srofe Jr. of the Boy Scouts of America Troop 562 on achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. WHEREAS, it is appropriate to commend and celebrate the accomplishments of Joseph Michael Srofe Jr. of Boy Scouts of America Troop 562 on the memorable and historic occasion of his attainment of the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout; and WHEREAS, the Boy Scouts of America was organized in 1910 to provide boys an educational program to build character, to train in the responsibilities of citizenship, and to develop personal fitness; and WHEREAS, the Boy Scouts of America awards its highest rank of Eagle Scout to scouts who have fulfilled the requirements in the areas of leadership, service, and outdoor skills; earned at least twenty-one merit badges, signifying the mastery of scout skills, including Citizenship in the Community, Citizenship in the Nation, and Citizenship in the World; and completed an Eagle Scout project, rendering community service; and WHEREAS, in order to obtain the rank of Eagle Scout, Joseph was required to provide leadership through the development and execution of his Eagle Scout Project as he constructed a storage barn for St. Luke the Evangelist Church in Slidell, Louisiana; and WHEREAS, in honor of Joseph's achievement, an Eagle Scout Court of Honor will be held on May 30, 2020; and WHEREAS, Joseph Michael Srofe Jr. represents scouting's finest tradition of duty to God and country, duty to others, and duty to self. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend and honor Joseph Michael Srofe Jr. on the historic occasion of his attainment of the rank of Eagle Scout; does hereby express utmost gratitude and respect for the exemplary strides he has made as a Scout and a citizen; does hereby congratulate Joseph Michael Srofe Jr. and the members and leaders of Troop 562 as they commemorate the Page 1 of 2 SR NO. 28 ENROLLED significant event of Mr. Srofe's pledge of eternal loyalty to the code of the Eagle Scout; and does hereby extend best wishes to Joseph Michael Srofe Jr. for full measures of happiness and success in all of his future endeavors.
