Amends Senate rules to permit members to vote via video or other electronic means during a declared emergency. 1 A RESOLUTION 2 To adopt Senate Rules 12.6.1 and 13.8.1 of the Rules of Order of the Senate, relative to 3 voting during a declared emergency; to allow members to be counted as present in 4 the chamber; to allow members to vote via video conferencing or other electronic 5 means; to allow committees to conduct meetings and vote via video or other 6 electronic means during a declared emergency. 7 BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana adopts Senate 8 Rules 12.6.1 and 13.8.1. of the Rules of Order of the Senate to read as follows: 9 Rule 12.6.1. Voting during declared emergency 10 During an emergency as defined by R.S. 29:273 and 727(D) or a public health 11 emergency as defined by R.S. 29:762, a member shall be counted as present and vote 12 via video or other electronic means. 13 * * * 14 Rule 13.8.1. Committees; declared emergency 15 During an emergency as defined by R.S. 29:273 and 727(D) or a public health 16 emergency as defined by R.S. 29:762, committees shall be permitted to conduct 17 meetings and vote via video or other electronic means.
