SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 58

A RESOLUTION
To commend Eric Stracener upon the occasion of his retirement from the DeRidder Fire
Department and to recognize his many years of service to the department, the city
of DeRidder, and Beauregard Parish.
WHEREAS, Mr. Eric Stracener is a captain of the DeRidder Fire Department and
is retiring as of June 17, 2020; and
WHEREAS, he has spent the last thirty years of his life providing dedicated service
to the citizens of DeRidder and Beauregard Parish; and
WHEREAS, Eric Stracener started his career with the DeRidder Fire Department in
1990 as a firefighter and is currently serving as lead over a firefighting shift; and
WHEREAS, during his career, he has obtained numerous fire service certifications,
his Paramedic license, and served as an EMS Instructor, CPR Instructor, and LSU FETI
Adjunct Instructor; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Stracener has also volunteered his time with Rosepine Fire
Department and Beauregard Parish Fire District #4 where he also currently serves as District
Chief; and
WHEREAS, his visions for improvements have been widely implemented across the
parish and his focus on detail has improved the ability of the parish fire departments to
respond and service the citizens of Beauregard Parish; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Stracener has been married to his wife, Jessica, for nineteen years
with four sons, Bradley, Jeffrey, Adam, and Ayden; and
WHEREAS, the strength of our communities and the overall vitality of American
society depend, in great measure, upon people like Eric Stracener.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby recognize and highly commend Eric Stracener of the DeRidder Fire Department
on the occasion of his retirement, and does hereby recognize his many years of outstanding
service to the department and to the people of the city of DeRidder and Beauregard Parish.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
Eric Stracener.
