SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 75
BY SENATOR FIELDS 
COMMENDATIONS.  Commends Coleen Temple,  Noah Hawkins, Myra Richardson, and
Mia Spears on organizing a peaceful protest of the killing of George Floyd and excessive
police force against black men.
1	A RESOLUTION
2 To commend Colleen Temple, Noah Hawkins, Myra Richardson, and Mia Spears for
3 organizing a peaceful protest of the killing of George Floyd and excessive police
4 force against black men.
5 WHEREAS, Colleen Temple, Noah Hawkins, Myra Richardson, and Mia Spears
6 organized a protest over the killing of George Floyd and excessive police force against black
7 men through downtown Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to the steps of the state capitol on Sunday
8 afternoon, May 31, 2020; and 
9 WHEREAS, in marked contrast to other protests occurring throughout the nation,
10 this protest was peaceful; and 
11 WHEREAS, the protest was held through nonviolent means seeking redress for
12 wrongs and equality in civil rights and justice; and 
13 WHEREAS, it is appropriate to commend Mia Spears, Noah Hawkins, Colleen
14 Temple, and Myra Richardson for organizing the peaceful protest. 
15 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
16 does hereby commend Colleen Temple, Noah Hawkins, Myra Richardson, and Mia Spears
17 for organizing a peaceful protest of the killing of George Floyd and excessive police force
18 against black men.

1 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
2 Colleen Temple, Noah Hawkins, Myra Richardson, and Mia Spears.
