CARTER, CATHEY, CLOUD, CONNICK, CORTEZ, FESI, FOIL,
HARRIS, HENRY, HENSGENS, HEWITT, JACKSON, JOHNS,
LAMBERT, LUNEAU, MCMATH, MILLIGAN, FRED MILLS,
ROBERT MILLS, MIZELL, MORRIS, PETERSON, POPE, PRICE,
REESE, SMITH, TARVER AND WOMACK 
A RESOLUTION
To commend Colleen Temple, Noah Hawkins, Myra Richardson, and Mia Spears for
organizing a peaceful protest of the killing of George Floyd and excessive police
force against black men.
WHEREAS, Colleen Temple, Noah Hawkins, Myra Richardson, and Mia Spears
organized a protest over the killing of George Floyd and excessive police force against black
men through downtown Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to the steps of the state capitol on Sunday
afternoon, May 31, 2020; and 
WHEREAS, in marked contrast to other protests occurring throughout the nation,
this protest was peaceful; and 
WHEREAS, the protest was held through nonviolent means seeking redress for
wrongs and equality in civil rights and justice; and 
WHEREAS, it is appropriate to commend Mia Spears, Noah Hawkins, Colleen
Temple, and Myra Richardson for organizing the peaceful protest. 
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby commend Colleen Temple, Noah Hawkins, Myra Richardson, and Mia Spears
for organizing a peaceful protest of the killing of George Floyd and excessive police force
against black men.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
Colleen Temple, Noah Hawkins, Myra Richardson, and Mia Spears.
