Mora and Jessica A. Mora, The Estate of Ignacio Mora, 7 & Nivardo Mora and Maria Pantoja de Mora versus Sidney Farrior, Pot-O-Gold 8 Rentals, Inc., Gemini Insurance Company and American Central Insurance Company 9 c/w Lee Mar versus The Hanover Insurance Company, BFI Waste Systems of North 10 America, Inc., f/k/a Browning-Ferris, Inc. and State of Louisiana through the 11 Department of Transportation and Development"; to provide for an effective date; 12 and to provide for related matters. 13Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana: 14 Section 1. The sum of Fifteen Thousand Dollars and No/100 ($15,000.00) Dollars, 15is hereby payable out of the State General Fund (Direct) for Fiscal Year 2020-2021 for 16payment of the consent judgment dated January 13, 2016, between Lee Mar and the state of 17Louisiana, through the Department of Transportation and Development in the combined suit 18entitled "Alma Gonzales Mora, individually and on behalf of her minor children, Paulina F. 19Mora and Jessica A. Mora, The Estate of Ignacio Mora, & Nivardo Mora and Maria Pantoja 20de Mora versus Sidney Farrior, Pot-O-Gold Rentals, Inc., Gemini Insurance Company and Page 1 of 2 HLS 21RS-503 ORIGINAL HB NO. 126 1American Central Insurance Company c/w Lee Mar versus The Hanover Insurance 2Company, BFI Waste Systems of North America, Inc., f/k/a Browning-Ferris, Inc. and State 3of Louisiana through the Department of Transportation and Development", bearing Numbers 42004-05634 Division "F" and 2005-2884 Division "H" on the docket of the Civil District 5Court, parish of Orleans, state of Louisiana. 6 Section 2. A judgment may only be paid from this appropriation if it is final and 7shall be paid as to principal, interest, court costs, and expert witness fees as awarded in the 8judgment. If the provisions of the judgment conflict with the provisions of this Act, the 9provisions of the judgment shall be controlling. Any other provision of this Act not in 10conflict with the provisions of a judgment shall control. Payment shall be made only after 11presentation to the state treasurer of documentation required by the state treasurer. Further, 12the judgment shall be deemed to have been paid on the effective date of this Act, and interest 13shall cease to run as of that date. 14 Section 3. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not 15signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature 16by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana. If 17vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become 18effective on the day following such approval.
