Synopsis of Senate Amendments
1.Add requirement for employees to annually authorize withholdings.
Digest of Bill as Finally Passed by Senate
Present law allows teachers or other employees of a school board to have dues for an
organization of teachers or other school employees withheld from their paychecks. Proposed
law retains present law.
Proposed law requires each employee to annually authorize such withholdings.
Present law exempts school boards operating under the terms of a collective bargaining
agreement applicable to teachers employed by the board. Proposed law repeals this
exemption.
