INSURANCE/AUTOMOBI LE:  Repeals reporting requirements related to commercial
motor vehicle policies
1	AN ACT
2To amend and reenact R.S. 44:4.1(B)(11) and to repeal R.S. 22:1290.1, relative to
3 commercial automobile insurance; to repeal the requirement for automobile insurers
4 to submit annual data to the commissioner of insurance; to provide for an effective
5 date; and to provide for related matters.
6Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
7 Section 1.  R.S. 44:4.1(B)(11) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:
8 ยง4.1.  Exceptions

10	B.  The legislature further recognizes that there exist exceptions, exemptions,
11 and limitations to the laws pertaining to public records throughout the revised
12 statutes and codes of this state.  Therefore, the following exceptions, exemptions, and
13 limitations are hereby continued in effect by incorporation into this Chapter by
14 citation:

1 Section 2.  R.S. 22:1290.1 is hereby repealed in its entirety.
2 Section 3.  This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not
3signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature
4by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana.  If
5vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become
6effective on the day following such approval.

Abstract: Repeals reporting requirements related to commercial motor vehicle policies
Present law requires automobile insurers to report to the commissioner of insurance certain
data related to commercial motor vehicles, including number of policies written, amount of
direct premiums written, and direct paid losses. 
Present law provides that the information reported pursuant to present law is confidential.
Present law defines "commercial motor vehicle".
Present law provides that present law shall become void on May 1, 2025.
Proposed law repeals present law.
Effective upon signature of the governor or lapse of time for gubernatorial action.
