New law authorizes the governing authority of St. Tammany Parish to require testing for
secondary contaminants in drinking water systems.
New law defines "secondary contaminant" as any substance for which secondary maximum
contaminant levels are established in the National Secondary Drinking Water Regulations
of the EPA.
Effective upon signature of governor (June 14, 2021).
