Abstract: Allows out-of-state wine producers to ship and sell raw wine products to in-state wine
producers for wine production, and allows out-of-state wine producers to ship and sell
finished wine to in-state wine producers for resale.
Proposed law defines "raw wine product" as raw grapes, crushed grapes, or an output derived from
crushed grapes during the wine making process.
Present law allows for an in-state wine producer to sell its finished product at retail directly to
consumers at its winery.
Proposed law retains present law and additionally allows in-state wine producers to also sell finished
products from out-of-state wine producers.
Present law prohibits alcoholic beverages produced or manufactured inside or outside of the state
from being sold or offered for sale in La. or shipped or transported into or within the state unless to
the holder of a wholesaler's permit.
Present law authorizes an out-of-state wine producer to ship and sell raw wine products to in-state
wine producers for wine production and allows out-of-state wine producers to ship and sell finished
wine to in-state wine producers for resale.
