français S.V.P" specialty license plate
Synopsis of Senate Amendments
1.Makes technical changes.
2.Creates the "United States Military Academy, West Point" special prestige
license plate.
3.Provides for the creation, issuance, design, implementation, fees, distribution,
and promulgation of rules applicable to the "United States Military Academy,
West Point" special prestige license plate.
Digest of Bill as Finally Passed by Senate
Proposed law requires the Dept. of Public Safety and Corrections issue special prestige
license plates to be known as the "West Feliciana Parish Schools", "En français S.V.P", and
"United States Military Academy, West Point" license plates, provided there are a minimum
of 1,000 applicants for such plates.
Proposed law requires the secretary work in conjunction with the superintendent of West
Feliciana Parish Schools, or his designee, for the color and design of the "West Feliciana
Parish Schools" plate.
Proposed law requires the secretary work in conjunction with the Saint LUC French
Immersion and Cultural Campus Board of Directors to select the color and design of the "En
français S.V.P" license plate, provided the design is in compliance with R.S. 47:463(A)(3).
Requires the design include the phrase "Saint LUC. En français SVP " and a prominent logo.
Proposed law requires the secretary work in conjunction with the Dept. of Veterans Affairs
to select the color and design of the "United States Military Academy, West Point" license
plate, provided the design is in compliance with R.S. 47:463(A)(3). Requires the design
include the phrase "United States Military Academy, West Point".
Proposed law specifies the license plates will be issued to any citizen of La. in the same
manner as any other motor vehicle license plate.
Proposed law requires the department to collect an annual royalty fee of $25 in addition to
the standard motor vehicle license tax and a $3.50 handling fee for each plate to be retained
by the department to offset a portion of administrative costs.
Proposed law requires monies received from the royalty fees for the "West Feliciana Parish
Schools" be forwarded to the West Feliciana Parish Public School System.
Proposed law requires monies received from the royalty fees for the "En français S.V.P" be
disbursed solely to fund programming at the Saint LUC French Immersion and Cultural
Campus.
Proposed law requires monies received from the royalty fees for the "United States Military
Academy, West Point" be disbursed solely to fund programming of the United States
Academy, West Point.

Proposed law requires the secretary to adopt rules and regulations to implement the
provisions provided for in proposed law.
Directs the office of motor vehicles to create the "West Feliciana Parish Schools", "En
français S.V.P", and "United States Military Academy, West Point" specialty license plates
when the applicable statutory provisions are met and its system is updated to accommodate
the creation of new plates.
