Prefiled pursuant to Article III, Section 2(A)(4)(b)(i) of the Constitution of Louisiana.
HOLIDAYS:  Designates Juneteenth as a state holiday
1	AN ACT
2To enact R.S. 1:55.1, relative to legal holidays; to provide that Juneteenth Day shall be a
3 legal state holiday; and to provide for related matters.
4Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
5 Section 1.  R.S. 1:55.1 is hereby enacted to read as follows: 
6 ยง55.1.  Days of public rest; Juneteenth Day
7	The third Saturday in June, Juneteenth Day, shall be a day of public rest and
8 a legal holiday.

Proposed law retains present law and adds Juneteenth Day, the third Saturday in June, as a
legal state holiday.
