Abstract:  Allows Concordia Parish courts to collect a fee of not less than five dollars nor no more
than ten dollars in criminal cases to be used solely to defray the operational costs of the office
of the coroner of the parish.
Present law establishes the Coroner's Operational Fund and a criminal court fee on certain defendants
dedicated to defraying the operational costs of the office of the coroner in the parish in which the
conviction occurred.  Provides for an additional fee in certain parishes for the support of the coroner.
Proposed law authorizes an additional fee of not less than five dollars nor more than ten dollars on
every defendant who is convicted in all courts in Concordia Parish to be used solely to defray the
operational costs of the coroner's office and repeals a similar fee.
Effective upon signature of governor or lapse of time for gubernatorial action.
