[R.S. 1:13(B) and 24:177(E)] HB 589 Original 2021 Regular Session Duplessis Abstract: Provides for persons who may petition the court when authorizing involuntary outpatient treatment. Present law provides that a petition to obtain an order authorizing involuntary outpatient treatment may be initiated by several authorized persons including any interested person through counsel with written concurrence of the coroner in the jurisdiction in which the person is found. Proposed law retains present law but no longer requires that an interested person through counsel shall have written concurrence of the coroner in the jurisdiction in which the person is found.
