HIGHWAYS: Designates a portion of Interstate 220 in Shreveport and Caddo Parish as the
"Minnion Dewayne Jackson Memorial Overpass"
1 AN ACT
2To designate a portion of Interstate 220 in Shreveport and Caddo Parish, as "Minnion
3 Dewayne Jackson Memorial Overpass"; and to provide for related matters.
4Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
5 Section 1. The portion of Interstate 220 at Exit 7A located in Shreveport and Caddo
6Parish, shall be known and is hereby designated as the "Minnion Dewayne Jackson
7Memorial Overpass".
8 Section 2. The Department of Transportation and Development or its contractors are
9hereby directed to erect and maintain appropriate signage reflecting this designation
10provided local or private monies are received by the department equal to the department's
11actual costs for material, fabrication, mounting posts, and installation of each sign, not to
12exceed the sum of five hundred fifty dollars per sign.

received by the DOTD equal to its actual costs for material, fabrication, mounting posts, and
installation of each sign, not to exceed the sum of $550 per sign.
Summary of Amendments Adopted by House
The Committee Amendments Proposed by House Committee on Transportation,
Highways and Public Works to the original bill:
1. Change the redesignation of Interstate 220 from Interstate 220 in Shreveport,
Louisiana to a designation of Interstate 220 in Shreveport and Caddo Parish.
2. Change the memorial designation in proposed law from the "Minnion Dewayne
Jackson Memorial Highway" to the "Minnion Dewayne Jackson Memorial
Overpass".
