Abstract: Authorizes the Iberia Parish Airport Authority to lease certain airport property without
advertising or competitive bidding.
Present law allows any airport district, airport authority, and other political subdivisions, including
the New Orleans Aviation Board, to lease to any person, areas for operations space, improvements,
and equipment on such airport or landing field in accordance with public bid law and present law
provisions relative to the lease of public lands.
Proposed law allows the Iberia Parish Airport Authority, which operates LeMaire Airport in
Jeanerette, Louisiana, to lease land, operations space, improvements, and equipment on such airport
or landing field without advertising or competitive bidding, provided the Iberia Parish Airport
Authority charges fair and reasonable prices for the property, which is determined by appraisals and
fair market value comparisons in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration guidelines.
Proposed law provides that the appraisals and fair market value comparisons required by proposed
law be conducted and paid for by the Iberia Parish Airport Authority.
