COASTAL RESOURCES: Urges and requests the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and
Fisheries to conduct a study to determine the final destination of oyster shells removed from
Louisiana waters
Synopsis of Senate Amendments
1.Adds the P&J Oyster Company and oyster lease holder families to the list of
entities that recognize the oyster population and their harvest as culturally,
economically, and environmentally valuable.
Digest of Bill as Finally Passed by Senate
Urges and requests the Dept. of Wildlife and Fisheries to conduct a study to determine the
final destination of oyster shells removed from La. waters and submit a written report of its
findings to the House Committee on Natural Resources and Environment and the Senate
Committee on Natural Resources not later than Jan. 5, 2022.
