FLOODING/CONTROL: Directs the Louisiana Department of Transportation and
Development to study water drainage issues in Livingston Parish as a result of Interstate 12
median walls
Synopsis of Senate Amendments
1.Changes the resolution from directing to urging and requesting the Louisiana
Department of Transportation and Development to study water drainage issues.
2.Makes a technical change.
Digest of Bill as Finally Passed by Senate
Urges and requests the Dept. of Transportation and Development (DOTD) to study drainage
issues in Livingston Parish occurring as a result of I-12 median walls. Prohibits any contents
of this Resolution to be used as evidence or impact any pending litigation. Requires the
DOTD submit an update on the progress of its study no later than 60 days prior to the 2022
Regular Session. Requires the DOTD submit a report of its findings to the president of the
Senate, the speaker of the House of Representatives, the Senate and House natural resources
committees, the Senate and House transportation committees, the La. office of community
development, the Council on Watershed Management, and the Coastal Protection and
Restoration Authority no later than 60 days prior to the 2023 Regular Session.
