HCR 87 Reengrossed 2021 Regular Session Robert Owen
Establishes the Kidney Disease Prevention and Education Task Force to study and make
recommendations for increasing awareness of chronic kidney disease and to work with policymakers,
public health entities, and educational institutions to create educational health programs to promote
awareness. Requires the task force to submit a written report of its findings and recommendations
to the legislature not later than 30 days prior to the convening of the 2022 R.S.

The Committee Amendments Proposed by House Committee on Health and Welfare to the
original bill:
1. Add to the membership of the task force a representative from the Southern University
School of Nursing.
The House Floor Amendments to the engrossed bill:
1. Add to the task force the following members:
a. One representative from Ochsner Health System.
b. One representative from LCMC Health System.
c. One representative from the La. State Nurses Association.
2. Make technical changes.
