COMMENDATIONS: Commends the Notre Dame High School baseball team on winning
the Louisiana High School Athletic Association 2021 Division III state
championship
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend the Notre Dame High School baseball team on winning the Louisiana High
3 School Athletic Association 2021 Division III state championship.
4 WHEREAS, the top-seeded Notre Dame High School Pioneers defeated second-
5seeded St. Charles Catholic High School, 7-2, to capture the 2021 Division III state title; and
6 WHEREAS, the Pioneers found their rhythm down the stretch turning a fourth-inning
7deadlock into a five-run blowout; and
8 WHEREAS, Luke Hoffpauir was named the game's Most Outstanding Player after
9collecting two hits and three runs-batted-in; and
10 WHEREAS, the Pioneers accounted for eight total hits; Luke Hoffpauir, Parker
11Seilhan, and Caleb Comeaux each had two hits; Will Vice and Karson Broussard also
12contributed a hit each; and
13 WHEREAS, the Pioneers were led by Coach Chris Stevens; this is his second state
14championship as head coach of the Notre Dame High School baseball team; he also led the
15Pioneers to a state title in 2018; and
16 WHEREAS, the members of the Notre Dame High School baseball team are most
17deserving of recognition for their hard work and determination throughout their
18championship run.
19 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
20Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Notre Dame High School baseball team

1on winning the Louisiana High School Athletic Association 2021 Division III state
2championship and does hereby extend sincere wishes that the members of the team enjoy
3future success both on and off the field.
4 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
5principal of Notre Dame High School.
