HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 114

A RESOLUTION
To commend the Notre Dame High School baseball team on winning the Louisiana High
School Athletic Association 2021 Division III state championship.
WHEREAS, the top-seeded Notre Dame High School Pioneers defeated second-
seeded St. Charles Catholic High School, 7-2, to capture the 2021 Division III state title; and
WHEREAS, the Pioneers found their rhythm down the stretch turning a fourth-inning
deadlock into a five-run blowout; and
WHEREAS, Luke Hoffpauir was named the game's Most Outstanding Player after
collecting two hits and three runs-batted-in; and
WHEREAS, the Pioneers accounted for eight total hits; Luke Hoffpauir, Parker
Seilhan, and Caleb Comeaux each had two hits; Will Vice and Karson Broussard also
contributed a hit each; and
WHEREAS, the Pioneers were led by Coach Chris Stevens; this is his second state
championship as head coach of the Notre Dame High School baseball team; he also led the
Pioneers to a state title in 2018; and
WHEREAS, the members of the Notre Dame High School baseball team are most
deserving of recognition for their hard work and determination throughout their
championship run.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Notre Dame High School baseball team
on winning the Louisiana High School Athletic Association 2021 Division III state
championship and does hereby extend sincere wishes that the members of the team enjoy
future success both on and off the field.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
principal of Notre Dame High School.
