HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 122

A RESOLUTION
To commend the John Curtis Christian School Lady Patriots basketball team on winning the
2021 Louisiana High School Athletic Association Division I state championship.
WHEREAS, the John Curtis girls' basketball team put together a sensational season,
with an over all record of 13-4, and capped it off by winning the 2021 Louisiana High
School Athletic Association Division I state championship; and
WHEREAS, the Lady Patriots have dominated the courts in girls' basketball in recent
years; this is the team's fifth state championship in a row and its eighth overall; and
WHEREAS, the championship game was not a cakewalk to the top, however; John
Curtis was down by seven points with less than three minutes to play against a very talented
Mount Carmel team; John Curtis's comeback victory is a testament to both its heart and its
talent; and
WHEREAS, Head Coach Temeka Johnson has called upon her players to achieve
ever higher standards of excellence, and the team's achievement of those standards brings
great pride to everyone associated with John Curtis Christian School and this outstanding
basketball program; and
WHEREAS, the Louisiana House of Representatives finds such achievement most
deserving of recognition and commendation.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the John Curtis Christian School Lady
Patriots basketball team on winning the 2021 Louisiana High School Athletic Association
Division I state championship and does hereby express its hope that the players and coaches
find such success in all of their future endeavors, on and off the court.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
principal of John Curtis Christian School.
