SPECIAL DAY/WEEK/MONTH: Designates Tuesday, May 25, 2021 as FFA Day at the
state capitol and commends the state officers of the Louisiana FFA Association
1 A RESOLUTION
2To designate Tuesday, May 25, 2021 as FFA Day at the state capitol and to commend the
3 state officers of the Louisiana FFA Association.
4 WHEREAS, the National FFA Organization prepares and trains students for
5leadership and professions in the science, business, and technology of agriculture in public
6schools throughout our nation; and
7 WHEREAS, the mission of the FFA organization is to make a positive difference in
8the lives of young people by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal
9growth, and career success through agricultural education; and
10 WHEREAS, the motto of the FFA organization, "Learning to Do, Doing to Learn,
11Earning to Live, Living to Serve", gives members words to live by as they experience the
12opportunities of the organization; and
13 WHEREAS, the National FFA Organization consists of more than seven hundred
14twenty thousand members in the United States, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands; and
15 WHEREAS, FFA membership in Louisiana continues to be strong and includes over
16eleven thousand agricultural students in two hundred and four chapters throughout the state;
17and
18 WHEREAS, the members of the Louisiana House of Representatives recognize the
19importance of agriculture to the economy of this state, as well as the importance of the
20education and training students in the state receive through agricultural education programs
21that develop competent and assertive agricultural leadership.

1 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
2Legislature of Louisiana does hereby designate Tuesday, May 25, 2021, as FFA Day at the
3state capitol.
4 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the Legislature
5of Louisiana also recognizes and commends the 2020-2021 state FFA officers as follows:
6Kaleb LeMoine, president; Elizabeth Richwine, vice president (Area II); Sydni Walker, vice
7president (Area III); Sadie Foster, vice president (Area IV); Emmerson Lyons, secretary;
8Haley Faciane, treasurer; Megan Chiasson, reporter; Faith Thibodeaux, sentinel; and Bryson
9Johnson, parliamentarian.
10 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
11to the executive secretary of the Louisiana Association of the National FFA Organization.
