COMMENDATIONS: Commends the Jesuit High School baseball team on winning the
Louisiana High School Athletic Association 2021 Division I state championship
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend the Jesuit High School baseball team on winning the Louisiana High School
3 Athletic Association 2021 Division I state championship.
4 WHEREAS, the Jesuit High School Blue Jays baseball team captured the 2021
5Division I state title by defeating the C.E. Byrd Yellow Jackets 6-1 in the championship
6match at McMurry Park in Sulphur, Louisiana; and
7 WHEREAS, Jesuit senior catcher Zack Casebonne was named Most Outstanding
8Player of the championship game after his sixth-inning grand slam helped secure the Blue
9Jays' victory; he previously hit a walk-off RBI single to secure his team's spot in the title
10match; and
11 WHEREAS, the Blue Jays' victory in the 2021 Division I state title game comes on
12the ten-year anniversary of Jesuit's most recent baseball state championship in 2011; and
13 WHEREAS, the Jesuit High School baseball team is most deserving of recognition
14for its outstanding accomplishments this season.
15 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
16Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Jesuit High School baseball team on
17winning the Louisiana High School Athletic Association 2021 Division I state championship
18and does hereby extend sincere hopes that the members of the team continue to work hard
19and enjoy success in their future endeavors.
20 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
21principal of Jesuit High School.
