HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 131
BY REPRESENTATIVES ILLG, SCHLEGEL, AND WILLARD
A RESOLUTION
To commend the Jesuit High School baseball team on winning the Louisiana High School
Athletic Association 2021 Division I state championship.
WHEREAS, the Jesuit High School Blue Jays baseball team captured the 2021
Division I state title by defeating the C.E. Byrd Yellow Jackets 6-1 in the championship
match at McMurry Park in Sulphur, Louisiana; and
WHEREAS, Jesuit senior catcher Zack Casebonne was named Most Outstanding
Player of the championship game after his sixth-inning grand slam helped secure the Blue
Jays' victory; he previously hit a walk-off RBI single to secure his team's spot in the title
match; and
WHEREAS, the Blue Jays' victory in the 2021 Division I state title game comes on
the ten-year anniversary of Jesuit's most recent baseball state championship in 2011; and
WHEREAS, the Jesuit High School baseball team is most deserving of recognition
for its outstanding accomplishments this season.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Jesuit High School baseball team on
winning the Louisiana High School Athletic Association 2021 Division I state championship
and does hereby extend sincere hopes that the members of the team continue to work hard
and enjoy success in their future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
principal of Jesuit High School.
