COMMENDATIONS: Commends the Bossier Parish Community College nursing program
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend the Bossier Parish Community College nursing program.
3 WHEREAS, the Bossier Parish Community College (BPCC) nursing program is
4committed to student-centered learning through academic instruction, clinical simulation,
5clinical experiences, and community service to promote excellence in nursing; and
6 WHEREAS, BPCC recognizes the nursing faculty and students for their extensive
7volunteerism to support COVID testing and vaccinations and boasts a 100% passage rate for
8first-time takers of the National Council Licensure Examination - Registered Nurse
9(NCLEX-RN) for its graduates; and
10 WHEREAS, BPCC is launching a new Licensed Practical Nursing program this year
11to meet regional workforce needs; and
12 WHEREAS, nursing is a high demand career with good employment opportunities
13and job stability; many hospitals may offer new graduates incentives, such as sign-on
14bonuses, shift differentials, or tuition reimbursement; and
15 WHEREAS, healthcare is one of the fastest growing industries in the United States
16and the demand for skilled professional nurses has never been greater; nurses play a vital
17role in providing direct patient care, and BPCC's nursing program is worthy of
18commendation for its contributions to this critical sector of the economy.
19 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
20Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Bossier Parish Community College
21nursing program on preparing students for patient-centered care; does hereby recognize the

1program for superiority in NCLEX-RN passage; and extends sincere hopes for the continued
2academic excellence for the college's nursing program.
3 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
4dean of Science, Nursing, and Allied Health of BPCC.
