COMMENDATIONS: Commends the Bossier Parish Community College softball team on
winning the National Junior College Athletic Association 2021 Division I Region
XIV East Conference championship
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend the Bossier Parish Community College softball team on winning the National
3 Junior College Athletic Association 2021 Division I Region XIV East Conference
4 championship.
5 WHEREAS, the Lady Cavalier softball team from Bossier Parish Community
6College had a record-setting 2020-2021 season; the team finished with a program single-
7season record forty-six wins and boasted a program-best conference record of twenty-three
8wins and one loss; the team also set the program record with a twenty-one game win streak
9and finished undefeated at home with a record of twenty-two wins and zero losses; and
10 WHEREAS, for the first time in program history, the Lady Cavalier softball team
11finished as runner-up at the NJCAA Division I Region XIV Regional Tournament; and
12 WHEREAS, Lady Cavalier pitcher Primrose Aholelei pitched a perfect game and
13was named NJCAA Division I National Pitcher of the Week for her performance; and
14 WHEREAS, the team also had four LSWA Player of the Week selections: Mabry
15Smith, Dyllan Sanay, Kiana Pogroszewski, and Uchenna Jong Loy; and
16 WHEREAS, Lady Cavalier Head Coach Amanda Nordberg earned her two-
17hundredth career victory during the season; and

1 WHEREAS, the Lady Cavaliers hit a team-record one hundred six home runs; they
2also set the NJCAA record for most home runs in an inning with six; the pitching staff
3combined for a program-best four hundred four strikeouts, and on the offensive side, the
4team also hit a program-record four hundred sixty-four RBIs; and
5 WHEREAS, numerous members of the team also set program records throughout the
6season; Kennedy Cox set the single-season record for triples in a season; Mabry Smith set
7the single-game strikeout record with fourteen; Uchenna Jong Loy tied the single-season
8record for hits with eighty-eight and also had the team's highest batting average; and
9 WHEREAS, the Lady Cavaliers finished the season at number eight in the NJCAA
10Division I National Rankings, and the team also set a program record by ranking among the
11top twenty NJCAA Division I teams each week of the season; and
12 WHEREAS, the members of the Bossier Parish Community College Lady Cavalier
13softball team are most deserving of the highest recognition for their incredible, record-setting
14season.
15 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
16Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Bossier Parish Community College
17softball team on winning the National Junior College Athletic Association 2021 Division I
18Region XIV East Conference championship; does hereby recognize the incredible individual
19and team performances of the Lady Cavaliers throughout the 2020-2021 season; and does
20hereby extend sincere wishes for the team's continued success.
21 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
22chancellor of Bossier Parish Community College.
