HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 149
BY REPRESENTATIVE ILLG
A RESOLUTION
To designate Tuesday, June 1, 2021, as Louisiana Lightning Day at the state capitol.
WHEREAS, the Louisiana Lightning baseball team was formed in the fall of 2017
by Coach David Courcelle; and
WHEREAS, Coach Courcelle formed the team to teach young men the fundamentals
of not only the game of baseball, but also of life; and
WHEREAS, in the last four years, the Louisiana Lightning baseball team has won
over one hundred games; and
WHEREAS, at the same time, the young players learned more through their defeats,
namely, the ability to overcome adversity through perseverance; and
WHEREAS, over the course of the last four years, the young men and their families
have become an extended family in which every member is bonded with every other
member; and
WHEREAS, the team members of the Louisiana Lightning include Aiden Albarado,
David Courcelle, David DeLuca, Keith Howard, Bryce Huesman, Josh Ladner, Brady
Magee, Sammy Perino, Johnny Revels, Kennon Russo, Charlie Smallpage, and William
Weidner.  
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby designate Tuesday, June 1, 2021, as Louisiana
Lightning Day at the state capitol and hereby does commend the members of the Louisiana
Lightning baseball team for their accomplishments on the field and for the spirit of
camaraderie that they have cultivated with one another.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
Coach David Courcelle.
