CONDOLENCES:  Expresses condolences on the death of Ernest Stephens, Baton Rouge
AFL-CIO political director
1	A RESOLUTION
2To express the condolences of the House of Representatives of the Legislature of Louisiana
3 upon the death of Ernest Stephens, Baton Rouge AFL-CIO political director.
4 WHEREAS, it is with profound sorrow and immense regret that the House of
5Representatives has learned of the death of Baton Rouge AFL-CIO political director Ernest
6Stephens; and
7 WHEREAS, Mr. Stephens was committed to improving the lives of all hard-working
8Louisianans, and he was resolute in his advocacy for social and economic justice; and
9 WHEREAS, Mr. Stephens was a recognizable and well-respected individual at the
10state capitol who is remembered for his genuine compassion and generosity; and
11 WHEREAS, Mr. Stephens was also a man of great faith committed to living
12Christian values; and
13 WHEREAS, Ernest Stephens will be deeply missed but long-remembered for his
14compassionate advocacy.
15 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
16Legislature of Louisiana does hereby express heartfelt condolences on the death of Ernest
17Stephens, Baton Rouge AFL-CIO political director, and does hereby extend sincere hopes
18that his family, friends, and loved ones find comfort during this difficult time.
19 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
20family of Ernest Stephens.
