COMMENDATIONS: Commends the Hicks High School baseball team on winning the
Louisiana High School Athletic Association 2021 Class C state championship
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend the Hicks High School baseball team on winning the Louisiana High School
3 Athletic Association 2021 Class C state championship.
4 WHEREAS, the Hicks High School Pirates baseball team won its fourteenth state
5title by defeating Hornbeck High School, 4-0, in the Class C state championship game; and
6 WHEREAS, Head Coach Gary Williams guided the Pirates to a 28-3 overall record
7and an undefeated district record of 6-0; and
8 WHEREAS, the Pirates maintained a team average GPA of 3.412; and
9 WHEREAS, Hicks High School has a storied baseball program that includes twenty
10appearances in state championship games and fourteen state championship victories; of the
11fourteen state championships, thirteen were earned in Class C, and one was earned in Class
12B; and
13 WHEREAS, in the past fifteen years, seven Hicks High School baseball players
14signed to play at the collegiate level, and sixteen players received All-State honors; and
15 WHEREAS, the Hicks High School baseball team is most deserving of recognition
16for its incredible season and its noteworthy winning tradition.
17 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
18Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Hicks High School baseball team on
19winning the Louisiana High School Athletic Association 2021 Class C state championship
20and does hereby extend sincere hopes for the continued success of the members of the team.

1 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
2principal of Hicks High School.
