COMMENDATIONS: Commends the North Vermilion High School baseball team on
winning the Louisiana High School Athletic Association 2021 Class 4A state
championship
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend the North Vermilion High School baseball team on winning the Louisiana
3 High School Athletic Association 2021 Class 4A state championship.
4 WHEREAS, the third-ranked North Vermilion Patriots baseball team defeated top-
5ranked Tioga to capture their first state championship since 1994; and
6 WHEREAS, North Vermilion pitcher John Touchet was named the Most Outstanding
7Player of the championship game; he was a dominant force all season for the Patriots, and
8he improved his season record to 12-0 after the championship victory; and
9 WHEREAS, the Patriots finished the season with thirty-three wins and seven losses,
10and the team has a bright future as a majority of its starters are sophomores and juniors; and
11 WHEREAS, the North Vermilion Patriots baseball team is most deserving of
12recognition for capturing their first state title in nearly thirty years.
13 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
14Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the North Vermilion High School baseball
15team on winning the Louisiana High School Athletic Association 2021 Class 4A state
16championship; does hereby recognize Coach Jeremy Trahan for leading the Patriots to a
17championship victory; and does hereby extend sincere hopes for the continued success of
18the team.
19 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
20principal of North Vermilion High School.
