HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 170
BY REPRESENTATIVE FIRMENT
A RESOLUTION
To commend the LaSalle High School softball team on winning the Louisiana High School
Athletic Association 2021 Class 1A state championship.
WHEREAS, the second-ranked LaSalle High School Lady Tigers softball team
defeated top-ranked Oak Grove High School, 12-4, to claim the Class 1A state championship
at the LHSAA Fast Pitch 56 State Softball Tournament in Sulphur, Louisiana; and
WHEREAS, this is the third state championship in LaSalle High School softball
history and the fourth time that the team has played in the championship game since 2017;
and
WHEREAS, LaSalle pitcher Landri Campbell earned the Most Outstanding Player
award after allowing only two runs and striking out eight of the opposing team's batters; she
finished the weekend with fifteen total strikeouts, bringing her season total to two hundred
nineteen strikeouts; and
WHEREAS, the LaSalle High School Lady Tigers are most deserving of recognition
for their outstanding championship performance this season.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the LaSalle High School softball team on
winning the Louisiana High School Athletic Association 2021 Class 1A state championship
and does hereby extend sincere hopes that the members of the Lady Tigers softball team
enjoy similar success in their future endeavors. 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
principal of LaSalle High School.
