COMMENDATIONS: Commends the Lusher Charter School boys' soccer team on winning
the Louisiana High School Athletic Association 2021 Division III state
championship
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend the Lusher Charter School boys' soccer team on winning the Louisiana High
3 School Athletic Association 2021 Division III state championship.
4 WHEREAS, the second-ranked Lusher Charter School Lions boys' soccer team
5defeated fifth-ranked E.D. White Cardinals at Strawberry Stadium in Hammond to capture
6the 2021 Division III state championship; and
7 WHEREAS, Lusher scored the first and final goals of a title game that featured two
8district rivals with matching skill sets; although the Lions only held a one goal lead at
9halftime, they were in total command of the game; E.D. White overcame their slow start to
10tie the game at 1-1, but Lusher managed to score a late-game winner to cap off their
11championship season; and
12 WHEREAS, Lusher senior keeper Jourdan Schumache was named the title game's
13Most Valuable Player; he held the Cardinals to a single goal and saved a potentially
14momentum-shifting penalty shot early in the second half; and
15 WHEREAS, the members of the Lusher Charter School boys' soccer team are most
16deserving of recognition for their amazing accomplishment.
17 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
18Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Lusher Charter School boys' soccer team
19on winning the Louisiana High School Athletic Association 2021 Division III state

1championship and does hereby extend sincere hopes that the members of the team enjoy
2success in their future endeavors.
3 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
4principal of Lusher Charter School.
