HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 177

A RESOLUTION
To commend Lusher Charter School senior Reign Riley on winning the Louisiana High
School Athletic Association 2021 Class 4A girls' shot put title.
WHEREAS, Lusher Charter School senior Reign Riley joined in on her family's
tradition of winning individual state championships with her performance in the girls' shot
put event at the LHSAA state track meet on Saturday, May, 8, 2021, at LSU's Bernie Moore
Track Stadium; her two older sisters each won multiple individual state championships while
they competed at Lusher; and
WHEREAS, Reign secured the gold medal in girls' shot put with a thirty-six foot toss
on the second of her six total attempts; she also earned a bronze medal in the girls' discus
throw event; and
WHEREAS, Reign is most deserving of recognition for continuing her family's
legacy of winning individual state track and field championships.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Lusher Charter School senior Reign Riley
on winning the Louisiana High School Athletic Association 2021 Class 4A girls' shot put
title; does hereby recognize her incredible determination in overcoming the pressure of high
expectations; and does hereby extend sincere hopes that she continue to succeed in all of her
future pursuits.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
principal of Lusher Charter School.
