COMMENDATIONS: Commends the Isidore Newman School girls' golf team on winning
the Louisiana High School Athletic Association 2021 Division II state championship
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend the Isidore Newman School girls' golf team on winning the Louisiana High
3 School Athletic Association 2021 Division II state championship.
4 WHEREAS, the Isidore Newman School girls's golf team captured their school's first
5ever state title by putting on a dominant performance at the 2021 LHSAA state golf
6championship; and
7 WHEREAS, Newman's total score of 306 was twenty strokes better than that of
8runner-up Ursuline Academy; and
9 WHEREAS, Liza Lapeyre led Newman with a total score of 145 strokes, and she
10earned her second-consecutive individual runner-up finish at the state tournament; her
11teammate, Fionna Marks, ended the tournament with a total score of 161 strokes and finished
12sixth overall; and
13 WHEREAS, the Newman girl's golf team is most deserving of recognition for
14capturing the school's first-ever golf state title.
15 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
16Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Isidore Newman School girls' golf team
17on winning the Louisiana High School Athletic Association 2021 Division II state
18championship and does hereby extend sincere hopes for the continued success of the school's
19golf program.
20 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
21principal of Isidore Newman School.
