HLS 21RS-1414 ORIGINAL 2021 Regular Session HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 36 BY REPRESENTATIVE MCFARLAND COMMENDATIONS: Commends the Greater Central Louisiana REALTORS Association on the occasion of its seventy-sixth anniversary 1 A RESOLUTION 2To commend the Greater Central Louisiana REALTORS Association on the occasion of its 3 seventy-sixth anniversary. 4 WHEREAS, the Greater Central Louisiana REALTORS Association is a trade 5association representing more than four hundred real estate professionals across nine 6parishes in Central Louisiana; and 7 WHEREAS, the Greater Central Louisiana REALTORS Association was 8incorporated on March 5, 1945, as the Alexandria Real Estate Board; and 9 WHEREAS, the first board of directors of the corporation was composed of president 10Charles N. White; vice president S.R. Cummings; second vice president W.C. Webb; 11secretary L.B. Gremillion; and directors E.M. Ellington, Tom Howell, E.A. Porter, J.F. 12Chamber, H.B. Hall, C.M. Waters, Jr., Joe B. Brown, A.J. Buckner, Tom Wells, and William 13I. Hustmeyre; and 14 WHEREAS, in the year of its incorporation, the Greater Central Louisiana 15REALTORS Association was accepted as a member of the National Association of 16REALTORS, which is a national trade association of over one million three hundred 17thousand members committed to raising the standards of the real estate practice and 18preserving the right of property ownership in the interest of the public welfare; and 19 WHEREAS, since its incorporation, the Greater Central Louisiana REALTORS 20Association has worked tirelessly as an advocate for the real estate industry and the people 21of Central Louisiana by promoting the passage of laws to provide equal opportunity for Page 1 of 2 HLS 21RS-1414 ORIGINAL HR NO. 36 1housing, to constitutionally prohibit taxes on the transfer of property, and to address 2countless other policy topics; and 3 WHEREAS, the Greater Central Louisiana REALTORS Association provides a 4unified medium for real estate owners and those engaged in the real estate profession 5through which their interests may be safeguarded and advanced; and 6 WHEREAS, throughout the seventy-six years of its existence, the Greater Central 7Louisiana REALTORS Association has provided a facility for education, research, and the 8exchange of information for those engaged in the real estate business and has served to 9promote the interest, dignity, and character of the real estate profession in Louisiana; it is 10most worthy of recognition for its work. 11 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the 12Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Greater Central Louisiana REALTORS 13Association on the occasion of its seventy-sixth anniversary and does hereby extend sincere 14wishes that it continue to successfully support and promote the real estate profession in 15Central Louisiana. 16 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the 17president of the Greater Central Louisiana REALTORS Association.
