COMMENDATIONS: Commends the Arcadia High School boys' basketball team on
winning the 2021 Louisiana High School Athletic Association Class 1A state
championship
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend the Arcadia High School boys' basketball team on winning the 2021 Louisiana
3 High School Athletic Association Class 1A state championship.
4 WHEREAS, the Arcadia High School boys' basketball team defeated White Castle
5High School, 51-38, to claim the 2021 LHSAA Class 1A state championship at Burton
6Coliseum in Lake Charles; and
7 WHEREAS, senior Khyrese Taylor scored fifteen points, grabbed six rebounds, and
8was selected as the Most Outstanding Player; and
9 WHEREAS, the Arcadia High School boys' basketball team finished the 2020-2021
10season with a 19-1 record overall and an 8-0 record in district games; and
11 WHEREAS, the members of the Arcadia High School boys' basketball team were
12model ambassadors for the town of Arcadia throughout the season, and their efforts have
13earned them a state championship title; and
14 WHEREAS, Head Coach Marcus Jackson and the entire coaching staff, along with
15the supporters of the Arcadia High School boys' basketball team played an important role
16in the team's championship run through their unwavering guidance and support; and
17 WHEREAS, the Arcadia High School boys' basketball team is most deserving of
18recognition for their incredible season.
19 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
20Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Arcadia High School boys' basketball

1team on winning the 2021 Louisiana High School Athletic Association Class 1A state
2championship and does hereby extend sincere hopes that the team continue to enjoy the same
3success for many years to come.
4 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
5principal of Arcadia High School.
