COMMENDATIONS: Commends the Hicks High School girls' basketball team on winning
the 2021 Louisiana High School Athletic Association Class C state championship
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend the Hicks High School girls' basketball team on winning the 2021 Louisiana
3 High School Athletic Association Class C state championship.
4 WHEREAS, the Hicks High School Lady Pirates captured their third consecutive
5state title in girls' basketball with their victory in the 2021 Class C championship game; the
6team also won the Class B state title in 2019 and the Class C state title in 2020; and
7 WHEREAS, the Lady Pirates had an incredible team in the 2021 season; the
8members of the 2021 Class C state championship squad are Chloe Wilbanks, Lauren Quinn,
9Avery Coffman, Kaycie Helton, Madison Jones, Reese Stephens, Maci Charrier, Tallen Earl,
10Shyanne Philips, and Karsyn Blackwell; the team was aided by its manager Josh Allen; and
11 WHEREAS, the Lady Pirates were led by their head coach, Michael Charrier, and
12assistant coaches Timothy Dye, Randy McKenzie, and Louis Boswell; and
13 WHEREAS, Head Coach Michael Charrier was chosen as both the 2020 National
14Federation of State High School Association's Coach of the Year for Louisiana and for the
15region that includes Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, and
16South Carolina; and
17 WHEREAS, all of the members of the Hicks High School girls' basketball team and
18everyone associated with this fine program are most deserving of recognition for their
19amazing accomplishments and inspiring perseverance throughout their championship season.
20 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
21Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Hicks High School girls' basketball team

1on winning the 2021 Louisiana High School Athletic Association Class C state
2championship; does hereby recognize Coach Michael Charrier for his incredible leadership;
3and does hereby extend sincere hopes that the members of the Hicks High School girls'
4basketball team continue to enjoy similar success for many years to come.
5 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
6principal of Hicks High School.
