COMMENDATIONS: Commends the Notre Dame High School softball team on winning
the Louisiana High School Athletic Association 2021 Division III state
championship
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend the Notre Dame High School softball team on winning the Louisiana High
3 School Athletic Association 2021 Division III state championship.
4 WHEREAS, the Notre Dame High School Lady Pios softball team captured the
5school's third-consecutive state title by defeating Holy Savior Menard by a score of 15-0 in
6the Division III finals at Frasch Park in Sulphur, Louisiana; the victory marks the fifth
7overall state title in softball for the school; and
8 WHEREAS, the Lady Pios were led by Corine Poncho, who was named the game's
9Most Outstanding Player after tallying two doubles, four runs batted in, and one walk in the
10season's penultimate match; and
11 WHEREAS, the members of the Notre Dame High School softball team are Morgan
12Alleman, Jillian Bourgeois, Maci Bergeron, Caylyn Henry, Emma Kate Hensgens, Madison
13Murrell, Corine Poncho, Abigail Savoy, Graci Alleman, Elizabeth Bourgeois, Macey Freed,
14Addyson Gautreaux, Annabelle Pitts, Bailee Royer, Sophie Bergeron, Lydia Brown, and
15Keleigh Spell; and
16 WHEREAS, the Lady Pios have been a dominant force all season and finished with
17a national record of ninety-five team home runs; they are most deserving of recognition for
18their incredible championship season.
19 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
20Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Notre Dame High School softball team

1on winning the Louisiana High School Athletic Association 2021 Division III state
2championship; does hereby recognize Coach Dale Serie and assistant coach Kyle Lebeouf
3for guiding the Lady Pios to a third-consecutive state title; does hereby recognize team
4manager Evelyn Lebeouf for her support of the team; and does hereby extend sincere hopes
5that the members and coaches of the team enjoy similar success in their future endeavors.
6 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
7principal of Notre Dame High School.
