RÉSUMÉ DIGEST ACT 99 (SB 132) 2021 Regular Session Bouie Prior law provided that a person who is arrested for a felony or other specified offense, including an attempt, conspiracy, criminal solicitation, or accessory after the fact, is to have a DNA sample collected at the same time he is fingerprinted pursuant to the booking procedure. New law retains prior law and adds that the DNA sample collected pursuant to prior law may be analyzed during or immediately following the booking of the arrestee, or at any time thereafter. Effective upon signature of the governor (June 4, 2021). (Amends R.S. 15:609(A)(1))
